This is our largest and most-ordered collection — the recessed pot lights, flush mounts, and pendants that go into every unit of a multi-family build. Sizes range from 3" module downlights to 24" flush mounts, spanning entry-level retrofit trims through CRI 90+ gimbal and fire-rated options.
4"-6" pot lights are the standard for most living spaces, hallways, and bedrooms; 3"-3.5" gimbal and eyeball downlights add adjustable directional lighting for accent or wall-wash applications. For bathrooms and other damp areas, look for "wet location rated" in the title. Above suspended ceilings or where fire separation matters, fire-rated (2-hour rated) options are required in many Alberta multi-family builds — check with your local building code official if you're unsure whether your application needs one.
Wet-location rated options are IP65 for bathroom, kitchen, and covered outdoor use; fire-rated (Type IC) fixtures are built for direct contact with insulation and fire-separated ceiling assemblies, a common requirement in multi-family and townhouse construction. Standard CRI is 80+, with CRI 90+ available on premium lines for more accurate colour rendering in living spaces.
Do I need fire-rated pot lights? If the fixture will be in direct contact with attic or ceiling insulation, or the ceiling is part of a fire separation between units (common in multi-family construction), yes — look for "fire rated" or "Type IC" in the product title.
What colour temperature should I use? 2700K-3000K reads as warm/residential and is the most common choice for living spaces and bedrooms; 4000K-5000K reads cooler and is more common in kitchens, bathrooms, and utility spaces. Most fixtures in this collection are colour-temperature selectable, so you can decide on-site.
For exterior wall-mounted cylinder lights and sconces, see the wall cylinder options within this collection, or check Security & Exterior Building Lighting for wall pack-style exterior fixtures.
